Spirit DataCine Brings Unparalleled Film Image Quality To Top Chilean and Argentinean Finishing and Post Production Facility
Thomson multimedia Broadcast Solutions, a division of Thomson multimedia has announced the sale of two Spirit DataCine film scanners to Chilefilms Group, a leading Latin- American Holding Company in the fields of production, post-production and film laboratory services with facilities in Chile, Argentina, Brazil and Mexico. June 22 2001 - The Spirit DataCine film scanner is a joint development between Thomson multimedia and Eastman Kodak. The combination of the Advanced Imaging Head from Eastman Kodak and Thomson's precision transport mechanisms and high-speed digital signal processing has resulted in a new benchmark for high-quality film transfers. This has been acknowledged by over 200 users world wide of the Spirit DataCine. The new standard applies to standard definition, high definition and high-speed data scanning. Chilefilms Group will install one DataCine at Chilefilms, their laboratory and post-production facility located in Santiago, Chile and a second DataCine at their laboratory and post-production house Videocolor, in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Each DataCine will be equipped with Da Vinci's 2K colour corrector, Aaton's KeyLink V8 Code Reader and Thomson's VS4 advanced film grain & noise reducer and dirt & scratch concealing system. This state-of-the-art equipment will position Chilefilms and Videocolor as the leading post-production facility in both countries, and among the most advanced in the world, offering the best available technology for video and data transfer. In acquiring the Spirit DataCine, Chilefilms and Videocolor have prepared their path to a future entry into the world of high definition post-production, high-resolution digital mastering and film restoration.
