Hollywood Theaters to Install Sony 4K Digital Cinema Projectors Across Its Circuit

DLP Cinema(R) Technology Surpasses 5,000 Screen Milestone

Texas Instruments (TI) (NYSE:TXN) today announced that its DLP Cinema(R) technology has surpassed the 5,000 screen milestone on a path to doubling that next year. There are 5,260 DLP Cinema enabled theatres installed across the globe, an increase of 140% from the same period one year ago.

Most of the communications systems forming around the world, however, are major benefactors from the technical development of HDTV. Roll Your Own Video Server - Mac Mini-style

When I bought my Mac Mini last year it was done so with the sole purpose to turn it into an HTPC. But after spending a year with it, the Mini has become so much more. We primarily use the Mini as our video server. We also have an ATSC tuner (El Gato EyeTV) connected to it so it is used as a back up DVR on those rare occasions that we have to record three programs at the same time. With a little networking know-how and a couple of applications the Mini becomes quite a powerful video server.

Beginning on its first anniversary, November 22, Xbox 360 will become the first gaming console in history to provide HD TV shows and movies directly to gamers in their own living rooms.
