Don't you mean "Active Shutter 3D"?

I'm confused by your term "active polarized 3D". It's my understanding that this type of 3D works by shuttering between the left and right eyes. There is no polarization involved and therefore the term should actually be "Active Shutter 3D".

Thanks for making a complex subject easy to understand for those of us don't have as great a grasp on the technology as some others. Not everyone who is an HD or 3D enthusiast is a technician. I understand it well enough now to explain, in layman's terms, how 3D works and the various options manufacturers are looking at to bring 3D to the home.
