Cooler HD Displays? (Temperature)

I want to put an HD display, probably in the 42-46 inch range in my master bedroom. The 42" plasma I have in there now (temporarily relocated from the patio) puts out lots of heat. I can tell when that TV is on, because the room gets warmer by a couple of degrees. Since I'm if Florida, the A/C runs most of the year, and adding heat to a room is not what I want to accomplish. I guess if I was up north, this would be a good thing in the winter, right?
What are the "coolest" HD displays out there right now? LCD is cooler than plasma? LED is cooler than fluorescent back- lighted?
How can I tell from the spec sheets which displays will be cooler? Is it the "power consumption" spec I should look at?
Thanks in advance,
Pat
