I own a small business and Periodically customers would tell me that they couldnt get thru because when they dialled my phone # they would get a message saying "the line was being checked for trouble". AFter SBC came to my home they determine that there was a light short in the dishnet work receiver. I have lost considerable sales because my customers could not get thru to me. My questions are. Is the problems with my phone due to sbc or dish network. I have discuessed the situation with dish network and they are not cooperative and want to charge me shipping to send out another system.

I would be interested if anyone else has experienced the same problems or could send me in the right direction. for solutions or possilbe compensation.

Thank you

John

This is more of a case of liability, and I don't think there is any for either SBC or Dish.

Connecting the Dish receiver to your line, is just like connecting a phone set to the line. If a regular phone was flaky and tieing up the line, it's not the phone company's fault nor is the phone manufacturer liable.

Unless you have some special warranty on the Dish Receiver, I assume you have to pay shipping to have it replaced.
