I had to look that one up! FTA means "free to air" and is related to picking up foreign satellite programmming.
Choose from such Free To Air channels such as those in Arabic and Vietnamese. Watch available signals from Kuwait, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Libya and Egypt. Our receivers offer outstanding performance for Satellite Telstar 5 ( T5 ). Add our 3ft Pansat dish and the matching LNBF for a complete Ku system.

To bad I don't speak Arabic. It would be interesting to hear the Syrian and Jordanian take on the Iraq election returns. I always am interested in divergent and opposing views, it helps me understand my own viewpoints better.

About 4 years ago the first HDTV satellite feeds by ABC, and I think PBS, were FTA feeds. People with Unity Motion (which later became Integra) receivers received their HD via FTA for these networks. Later these networks switched to proprietary satellite technology. At that time I got rid of my Integra since there was no HD on FTA (and also the Integra was a dog). -Ken

What does FTA mean? Free satellite signals like OTA analog or DTV and you just need a tuner/STB?
