I have another thread that touches on this subject, but I wanted to post another thread to help save AV enthusists the trouble and expense of ordering a switcher or splitter for the purpose of redirecting an HD-DVD signal. There is no problem with the video aspects, but the decoded PCM audio (such as DD+) audio will not pass correctly through an HDMI switcher or splitter. (at least none that I have found)...(You have to go into the HD-DVD player's menu and change your audio settings to "bitstream" and settle for a legacy 5.1 signal)... Gefen Inc. is currently working on this problem, but for now you may want to save your money until the units are upgraded. I have chosen to bypass the idea of using switchers and invest the money in a 4 HDMI input AV receiver. An HDMI receiver with 1.1 or 1.2 HDMI is capable of accepting this PCM signal from your HD-DVD player. I have been doing numerous tests and have not found 1 brand of switcher or splitter that will pass the dd+ PCM signal correctly. (Hope I saved you some aggravation)... :D
