Take WWII and about 40 of the planes that starred in those theaters from Europe and Africa to the Pacific and you have a potential hit for a WWII propellor head like myself!

My experience started with the demo.

From the opening titles and music to the training level I was instantly impressed beginning with my keyboard moving on to the Logitech Attack 3 joystick. As I played though it became apparent that this game is not so much a simulator as much as arcade venue with controls and responses just like a console game. That said the fun remained all the way to the end of demo so I bought it!

The problems begin...

In researching this game I found plenty of angry users at the Ubisoft Forum site over joystick support which did not make much sense to me as my joystick experience with the demo worked out fairly well. Then I bought the game...

I loaded the game up and started it only to find my joystick not working so I went into the setup screen only to find it broken, non functional. I downloaded two game patches and then found the game would no longer recognize the correct axis on my joystick. I purchased one of the Logitech sticks that they documented as being tested and fully functional with the game only to find the exact same problem with it. While Logitech provides a support panel for reassignment of axis and key bindings I could not correct this problem. After about 4 hours of fussing with this I enlisted my PC guru son to help. He removed the game and reinstalled but only installed the first game patch in hopes that would correct the broken setup screen which it did. None the less the throttle was still not being read correctly and the Logitch support panel fixed that providing a fully functional stick. Unfortunately the stick was not being read correctly so the correct axis were not be applied to the correct functions causing the stick to lose it
