I'm lacking enough digital audio inputs on my surround receiver. Is there such a thing as a digital coax splitter where I could plug two separate devices into one input? Keeping in mind that they would not be in use at the same time.

A splitter would not work with data streams 100%. The real solution is an external switcher or upgrade your receiver... mine is due for the exact same reason plus the advance in HT audio from HD DVD and Bluray.
