Picture takes a long time to come on

I am having a problem with the picture coming on with a Panasonic 60in Plasma. I have a Motorola HD DVR from Cox cable going into a Denon 1906 using componant cables and from the Denon to the tv with componant cables. The picture looks great when it comes on. At times, it can take 10 minutes for the picture to appear. The HD box is on and everything is set right because we let it sit and it just starts working. The TV displays the menu when the picture is not on, so I know the tv is alright. It does the same thing if I use another input on the tv also. Any help or insight would be appreciated.
