Need component video tech help

Guys,

This is a little suprising. I'm using an OLD projector that was never meant for home theater, it was an office 1024x768, but it's just too cool having a 120" picture - besides, I have the ISF calibrated RPTV and the Lumagen scaler for critical viewing...

Anyhoo, I've been using the RGB output from the Samsung DTV tuner to the RGB input on the projector. Works fine. But now I need to swap to the component inputs due to some complexity issues. The manual states it will work with a "standard video component" input, but the component inputs are BNC and labeled "R-Y", "Y", and B-Y", instead of the usual "Y", "Cb" and "Cr" that I am used to. I have the BNC to RCA connectors, and I thought I was good.

The problem is that when I connect them, things get squirrely. I either get no picture at all, or I get an intermittent green-only picture. I've verified the sync-on-green setting, but no matter what I tried, I had no luck.

I've done some searching on Google, but nothing addresses my specific issue. Anybody know an obvious answer? I would think I'm close, since I can sort of get the green signal, but I've run out of ideas.

Bob - I'm certainly no expert but I think the projector has to be switched from RGB to Component. I don't think the processing is interchangeable. Did you check the projector's owner's manual? What's the make/model?

Like Allen said, what is the make and model?

That sounds like a YPbPr input using different labeling and it may limited to 480I or 480P only...
