I should have added to my original post above reason for checking this....
In watching Dark scenes/night recorderd TV programs like "24" I notice on the cinema 1 mode on the PT-AX 100e I loose a some detail in the extreme black scenes...I have found a way to boost the low black level (Using a Favourite mode I load on Cinema 1 light Harmonizer Manuel +4, Constrast +15, gamma low +6 ) but I dont think this is the correct way though.. and of course it is no good for bright scenes...
Comments please

Sorry for the delayed response...
From what I can see this appears to have the same front end as it's big brother minus some features.

Are you increasing your brightness to reveal the third below black bar?
Cinema 1 has reduced light output and if you don't have a high gain screen or small screen that could cause the effect that troubles you. Do you have this problem in normal?
I would not use the Intelligent Light Harmonizer, it's a gimmick trashing your gamma response. Increasing contrast to +15 will also trash your gamma and clip peak whites. Cinema 1 is ballparked well and with some touch up using the calibration disc you should be set.
What is the brand and model of your player?
