analog cable

I have Comcast cable in my house. I've had it for over 20 years. I also have DirecTV so my main source is satellite. I have a Sony 60" SXRD and a Sony Bravia 32" LCD tv. Each one has a QAM tuner which allows me to tune unscrambled digital signals coming in through the Comcast cable. I can receive local digital channels including High Definition. There are a few others like TNT-HD. The odd thing about this is the two tv's decode the channels to different channels! An example: local CBS on the LCD Bravia is located at 1.1 and on the SXRD at channel 103.1. Local PBS (PBS-HD) on the Bravia is located at 1.3 and on the SXRD at channel 101.3. I cannot receive local NBC on the Bravia but I can on the SXRD. This is all on the same wire coming into the house!
It appears there may be different protocalls for QAM. I thought that would have been a standard that all manufactures would have to use. My situation is with the same manufacture. Does anyone have any comments or experience with QAM tuners?
