Semi Amazing Mitsubishi warranty service from Circuit City

I have a WD-52631 I purchased from Circuit City around Thanksgiving of 2006. In Feb of 07, the air flow /thermal sensor problem happened. The repair tech that replaced the thermal sensor said business was booming due to all the new TV technologies. I went back to Circuit City and asked if I could purchase an extended warranty. Technically you have 90 days which was exceeded. They sold it to me anyway.

A week ago Thursday, the TV went POP! and went blank. No warning, just dead. I called CC warranty and they said they would get someone out next Wed. On Wed morning I received a voice mail telling me the tech was sick and to call back for another apointment. Great.

I called CC warranty service again. No appointments for at least a week. Super. The CC person asked what the issue was. I told him what had happened. He asked if anyone had gone through triage with me when I called the first time. No, just the usual unplg the set, system reset stuff. He promptly got Mitsubishi on the line and they took me through a couple fo test to determine that the lamp had failed. He then asked me if I would be comfortable installing my own lamp. Sure, easy. So Mits, through CC warranty, is overnighting a lamp from Georgia. If I rescheduled the appointment, I'd have to wait a week for the tech, then another 7-10 business days for the lamp.

So far, CC and Mits have been pretty good. The TV has a great pic, but the reliability is awful. Never again a Mits.
