DIRECTV, the nation's leading satellite television service provider, continues to set the stage for its unprecedented expansion of HD services. With agreements in place to launch four Discovery HD channels, five HD channels from Starz, CNBC and Chiller in HD, along with recently completed deals with The History Channel and A&E, DIRECTV is on schedule to roll out up to 100 national HD channels by year-end to satisfy the appetite of its HD customers, who have doubled over the last year.

JVC Announces 2nd Generation High-Speed LCD TV Technology

JVC today announced its second generation Clear Motion Drive (CMD) high-speed LCD television technology that delivers crisp fast action images, typically a weakness in LCD performance. JVC's new Clear Motion Drive II technology, like the original, features a refresh rate of 120 frames per second (120Hz), double the typical rate. But CMD II has been designed specifically for full HD (1920 x 1080) displays and improves motion detection fivefold compared to the original high speed driver.

Wireless 802.11n operating at 5GHz makes it possible to stream high-definition (HD) multimedia content throughout the home, from PCs to home entertainment centers, with minimal interference and congestion from legacy (2.4GHz) networks. DIRECTV First to Launch The History Channel HD (THC HD) Set to Debut in September 2007

Starz Unveils Plans to Launch Three New HD Movie Channels

Starz Entertainment President and Chief Operating Officer Bill Myers today announced plans to launch three additional high definition (HD) channels, bringing to four the total number of HD channels offered by the premium television company.

The three new channels offered in HD will be East Coast feeds of Starz Comedy, Starz Edge, and Starz Kids & Family.
