Cox Communications Announces Expanded Lineup of High Definition Content Via On DEMAND

HERNDON, Va., Jan. 3 /PRNewswire/ -- Cox Communications Northern Virginia today became the first company in Fairfax County and the Fredericksburg region to launch high-definition On DEMAND, featuring exciting content from Starz! and Showtime. Any Starz! or Showtime subscribers who have an HDTV and HD receiver from Cox can access the new On DEMAND HD content at any time for free.

More than 20 Starz! and Showtime On DEMAND HD movies are currently available, with more titles added every week. In addition to this new high- definition On DEMAND content, Cox Northern Virginia now offers a total of 31 high-definition channels, nearly double the amount of HD channels Cox offered at the beginning of 2007 and more than any local competitor.

"We are thrilled to offer such a wide variety of high-definition content to our valued customers," said Mark Snow, vice president of marketing for Cox Northern Virginia. "Cox offers the only true high-definition On DEMAND content in Fairfax County, and we look forward to providing our customers with even more HD entertainment in 2008."

Available on Cox Digital Cable Channel 1, On DEMAND offers Cox Digital Cable subscribers a library of over 5,000 movies, shows and music videos to view anytime, with the majority of content available at no charge. Cox Digital Cable customers can also access high-definition movies by tuning to channel 700. Available movies include Hollywood hits and new releases for $5.99 each.
