An interesting tidbit regarding Blu-ray vs HD-DVD

It looks like some of the principals are hedging their bets a bit.

I always said that one of the big advantages of Blu-ray in this race
(regardless of technological advantages, real or perceived) would be
the fact that the SONY PS3 would incorporate a Blu-ray player giving
an immediate player base in the millions - something crucial for a
format's survival.

Now it appears that Redmond, WA may also be thinking the same
thing. If in fact there is any truth at all in the cited report then
this would be a major coup for the Blu-ray camp - even more so than
the some of the studios straddling both sides of the fence.

There was an interview with one of the MS executives(I don't remember which
one). He stated that if HD-DVD did fail they would be able to make an
external Blu-Ray drive to replace the HD-DVD drive. But their plans right
now were only for adding an HD-DVD drive. He said since it was external they
would not be locked into one format if/when there is a format winner.
