Anything up with HDTV Expo??

Back in September, HDTV Magazine and Affinity Marketing LLC announced
a traveling roadshow to be known as "The HD Expo". I've never read
anything about it since. Have these shows happened, or are they still
in the planning stages? I blogged the original announcement, and as
part of the one-year anniversary of my blog, I'm trying to do some
recapping and follow-up. I apologize for not asking this question a
week ago, as I'm hoping to get the post I'm working on out in the
next day or two (a really short answer will suffice).

Thanks,

Bob C

This has proven a hard concept to sell to those who should
and could sponsor it. The fact that we have been a
constant beacon for HDTV going on 25 years is meaningless
to the industry. What we have done is set the Expos
temporarily aside and organized a team of world class
experts to bid on the NTIA contract -- the $150,000,000
administration of the 1 billion dollar subsidy. I will
keep you posted as to the results of our bid. I would
think that the idea of the Expo would be growing in
importance the further down the road we are to the hard
shut off date of analog terrestrial broadcasting. That,
and the fact that sales are starting to happen at retail
with cut throat prices, may cause the industry to wake up
and realize that they have to give a boost to demand.

Thanks, Dale! I certainly hope you find more support for the Expo
going forward.
