ATSC and emergency services

----- HDTV Magazine Tips List -----

I have to agree with Dan 100%.

There is no ATSC to be had at my house with rabbit ears. ATSC must be
far more robust than what we have had for the last 7 years for that to
be plausible. ATSC for emergency services is a red herring... NTSC
outperforms it hands down! I am not alone...

It is easy to forget all this until you lose your electricity and turn
on your battery powered 5" b/w portable with the 3 foot telescoping
antenna to see what is going on. With ATSC I would be in the dark along
with many others.
