Anthony,

Elites are an excellent choice but if you do no want to go with a used set, dozens of new CRT RPTV
models were introduced by several major companies, and they must have HDMI or DVI, but they are
integrated reason by which the price could not be as low, but they are still the lowest prices out
there. On the report go to the first section of TVs, starts on page 32.

Akay with a 52" for $1200 MSRP (a 42" for $1K)
Daewoo with a 55" for $1600
Hitachi with 7 models, the series F510 is probably the best deal, still a monitor, and with HDMI,
51" for $1700, the integrated line S715 has the 51" for $2200.
Mitsubishi 2004/5 with 8 models, all integrated, HDMI, 55" 2700 introduced back in Jul 04, you might
still find one available.
Philips 3 models, 51" $2100 introduced in Oct 04
Samsung 2004/5 models introduced Jun 04 52" $1500, new lines at CES TTM 2Q05 included a 43" for
$1300 integrated ATSC
Sony TTM Sep04 51" integrated $2100
Thomson introduced in 2005 10 RCA models in 5 series, a 52" for 1100, integrated
Toshiba line 2004-5 with 8 models , a 57" TheaterWide integrated TTM Sep 04 for $2300

All the prices above are MSRP and old on the cases of 8 month + ago introductions, for sure they
might be rock bottom by now.

I have information about all the new lines on the press releases of majors like Toshiba , Mitsu,
Panny, etc, I did not check what else they have coming, but CRT is not dead yet.

Best Regards,

Rodolfo La Maestra

Anthony, check ebay for "pro<xxx>hd" where xxx is 530, 630, or 730. they
all have dvi/hdcp and go for cheaper than they should.

Thank you Mr. Campbell. It just confirms what I've been thinking about
this from the beginning. Now if I could purchase a relatively
(relatively being a broad term) inexpensive 1080i RP CRT set with HDMI
connects or at least DVI with HDCP, I'd consider it. Perhaps if Mits is
making the rush to "1080P" they will heavily discount their existing
1080i sets. I can only hope.

I ran across an article by Pete Putman regarding the new 1080p sets
coming out. This has been discussed on Tips many times but if someone
wants a short, concise opinion on whether or not to rush out and buy a
1080p set, this piece offers some advice. For any new people on Tips,
Pete is very well known to many of us and used to subscribe to Tips.
