Hi,
Is anyone familiar with any problems with OTA reception that are unique
to the Dish 622? My local Fox affiliate has gone digital and everyone
who uses a 622 has reception problems. I can receive the signal fine via
my RPTV but have consistent dropouts on my 622. Others in the local
forum at avsforum.com report similar experiences. Is anyone familiar
with this problem? Thanks.

After having nearly flaw free reception on my 622, last month things went
south. I have at least 4 service calls only the last of which restored
consistent service. However, even since there has been an occasional
dropout.

I'll throw out PSIP... a very common culprit when satellite receivers
have problems that OTA only receivers do not and vice versa.

Hi, I have had a 622 for several months with no strange behavior.
I expect that there is some formatting error on the part of your local
station. Here is an example: When the local PBS station went HD a
couple of years ago, I could not receive it at all. The manager refused
to acknowledge a problem until one of his engineers with a 6000 also
could not receive it. They fixed it. So I guess the point is that
receivers will vary in their enforcement of standards.

Complain to the station!

Walt,
Try dropping a line to [email protected]. They are pretty good
about following up with local stations to make sure the PSIP is compatible
with their receivers.

Thanks to all of you for the replies. I hope I didn't sound like I was
trying to bad-mouth the local Fox station. The broadcast engineer is a
real trooper and I know that he was on the phone with Dish last week so
hopefully the problem will be solved soon.

My dropouts were not related to local channels, but to sattelite channels.
