How did I miss this? I knew it was coming sometime but I haven't seen
anything on a firm date. Well, it's up on Dish Network as I type! Looks
great!! What else have I missed?

FoodHD went live yesterday. Previously "Cable Only" INHD has also been
uplinked on Dish, but is not available to subs yet. We are also expecting
some regional HD sports networks to show up this fall sometime.

Any chance that The YES HD network might be one of those "regional HD
sports networks" that might show up in the fall? My one gripe with
Dish programming so far has been their refusal to offer YES at any
level (SD included) to its customers. I would even be willing to
subscribe if they made it an extra cost option, but that option isn't
even offered.

Also, as a general question: what regional HD sports networks are
being mentioned for introduction?

Thanks.

I know a lot of New York area people want YES. Dish has not had much luck
negotiating with them.

As far as the other regional sports nets are concerned, I would GUESS that
it will be the ones that are doing the most HD first. I don't know enough
about the particulars to speculate on any given RSN. I know that DirecTV
has some RSN's up in HD now, but I don't know which ones. I think the New
England area is one of them.

Sorry I can't be more help.

Thank you for your input. I actually pay $45/month to get the YES
network on DirecTV (the minimum I can pay for a single box/single
dish set-up since I obviously don't need, nor do I want any other
DirecTV features.) So that's well over $500 for one channel! I
really wish that DISH would at least offer it as an extra-cost
option. Both Cable and DirecTV in my area carry YES - and it's in
HD! (DirecTV wanted over $60 if I went the HD route so I stopped
short of that. Besides, when I signed up for YES a few years ago it
was $32/month and now they keep raising the price of their "basic"
offerings. I'm hoping that when Verizon FIOS gets here (soon!) I can
get my YES-HD from them at a lower cost. I don't want to leave DISH
because the amount of HD content (and the overall quality) compared
to every other option is far better with Dish. But I'm perplexed
that every other provider has been able to work something out and get
YES, in HD yet! One would think that they would go after YES-HD
since Dish is trying to remain the HD king (FOODHD makes it 30
channels of HD + locals and some demo/alternate channels). I'm
caught in the middle.

Most are FSN, but YES is mentioned specifically.
