----- HDTV Magazine Tips List -----

In my opinion if you waited that long and did not
watch the movie at the Theater, then why would you
want to pay $25 to $30 to view it when in one or 2
more months that same movie will be released in DVD or
HD-DVD. And you can pay around that or less to own it.
I know I would never pay that kind of money and I
don't see why anyone would.
Mario.

I think I saw this yesterday and thought that DirectTV was crazy to think we
are so hard up for HD content that we'd pay $25 to $30 for a movie sixty
days after release. As someone pointed out DirectTV should be providing
more HD programming if they think we are so hard up for content.

I second that. I am also growing tired of all the promises of future HD
content programming. This has been going on for 11 months months with me
personally.

Thats how things go when you live on the cutting edge of technology. Some of us have been at this for four years or more and are shut out from the two main forms of High Defintion Disk. "You pays your money, you takes your chances!"

I think that guy is smoking something.

What's the estimated TOTAL number of HD sets sold as of 12/05? Something
like 16 million?

And he's suggesting over a MILLION people spent $25k on their home theater
JUST LAST YEAR??

That has to be a marketing study gone wild.

There may be 16 million Hd sets sold . The problem
is that the numbers do not differenate between those
that are just HD capable & those that have native hd
resolutions . Even a bigger problem is the number of
hd settop boxes to go with those boxes is
significantly
lower . I believe it is the range of two million or
less.

Whether the market for the $25 HD PPV is more
marketing than otherwise
