----- HDTV Magazine Tips List -----

Dear Tipsters,

I could not let this day pass without expressing my profound thanks to all
of you here on the tips list for the great contributions you have made over
the last several years. I hope this season finds you incredibly prosperous
and in good health. We look forward to growing this enterprise so that it
has something for everyone and you have helped in shaping that future.

Again, thanks for being a friend.

Dale (and I know Shane joins me in this expression)

PS While I am at it let me thank all of those engineers who tireless spent
the better part of 40 years of their professional careers in the work of
delivering to us one of the marvels of our times--HDTV. Let me also thank
those courageous program and signal providers who took the initiative to saw
down their old existing business for one they had no idea would work. And,
while we take it for granted today we should not forget that there was a
dreadful pause in the inauguration of HDTV when the manufacturers stopped to
calculate the cost to their existence should it fail. They were absolutely
dependant upon the program and signal providers over whom they had no
control, and, of course, YOU. They took a leap of faith that we would
respond to their offerings if they did a good job. The gamble was in the
tens of billions of not even over one hundred billion dollars. So, I thank
them for the faith they had in the marketplace. I thank all of the pioneers
who stuck their necks out year after year more than not often causing them
life-sapping deprivations--real sacrifice. Without their help we would never
have found a starting point. The thanks is high because the reward to the
world is even higher. We have only seen the tip of a massive iceberg in
terms of programming impact upon our cultures and the technical quality to
our homes. It's a brave new world that has nothing to do with the
deconstruction and the terrorizing that so many in the world today take as
their daily diet. It is a constructive step towards building a better future
for everyone. I am thankful for that and for all who made it possible.

And I am ever Thankful for ALL that YOU - Dale -
have done, and the incredible personal sacrifices
you made, just to inform and assist in educating
those of us "Non-Tech" consumers who were "lost in
the Digital-HDTV-Mis/Dis-Information Maze"... And
while I'm at it, THANKS to ALL You TIPS
Contributers... both the "regulars" as well as the
occasional posters. All have greatly enriched the
HDTV Experience, for me personally,
and I suspect many, many more.
All the BEST to You ALL -
