I need a documentary or movie about India in HD...D-VHS, WMV-HD,
whatever format doesn't matter.

Has anyone seen or heard of such a thing?
Thanks!

I've seen several on IN HD and Discovery. Whether these are available
in a format that you can use I have no idea.

Jason,

I just spoke to a friend of mine that has a TV production business and he is from India, he did a
couple of jobs for me in the past and they are very responsible people.

What a coincidence, they are working now in a movie about India in HD but is not the documentary
type that I believe you want.

The movie will ready for release in two months, and later they were planning to do the documentary
title.

He also told me that there is a documentary in NTSC already available but I do not believe that
would interest you.

I told him about your needs and he asked me to provide him support about HDTV so I will be in
contact with his business more often, I will keep you posted.

Here is their web site: http://www.gingerbreadproductions.com/ his name is Bob.

Best Regards,

Rodolfo La Maestra

Jason,

How soon do you need this? I am able to make a HD .ts file whenever
someone has a show about India on one of the HD dish channels and I believe
you are technical enough to be able to convert it to WMD-HD, or whatever
format works.

Rodolfo - this is for a friend of mine who is demo'ing his furniture in
a trade show booth. The furniture is handmade in India, and he has a
deal with Syntax to use an LCD HD monitor as part of his display. He
wants to run some kind of HD demo loop about India, and I don't have
anything for him. I do have a beautiful documentary of Croatia and on of
Australia on WMV-HD, but they are both in German only.

Anyway, I'd be interested in anything they come up with.

Not sure when the show is, but that would be great. A .ts file on a
DVD-R would work for me :)

Jason,

When?

A decent DVD on an LCD HD monitor would probably pass as HD considering that the only two monitors
Syntax released at year-end were 32" and 37" with 1366x768 resolution on the Olevia line, unless he
has a beta offer of larger dimensions (not announced at CES).

So, considering the choices, if he can not wait, and no program is aired soon in HD from Discovery
HD or the like, he should probably be looking at a back up plan and get a good DVD.

The LCD panel would upconvert that to its native resolution, and since those two panels are as fast
as 8ms I anticipate that they would look good enough for a non-lab type of audience (8ms is what
Sharp Aqua is getting out of their larger displays so they are up there with the best)

----- HDTV Magazine Tips List -----

Comcast (here in the SF Bay Area) has been messing with digital
system (encryption). I only get Cable Internet, but, hooked up the
cable to the QAM section of my HD tuner for my Mac, and lo and
behold, I got signals (even got the HBO/Showtime free trials). But,
now all I get are the locals, and ESPN-HD, no longer the INHDs, or
even some of the digital SD (nice to have SciFi for Battlestar
Galactica, etc.).
