I will travel to NY next weekend to attend a preview of the 1.3 features of
HDMI, if anyone has any particular question about 1.3 that is not already
covered by the recent magazine articles about HDMI, which appear now in the
HDMI website, please send me a PM and I will be glad to gather the
information for you.

Best Regards,

Rodolfo La Maestra

----------------------------

Dear Rodolfo:

I would like to invite you to an exclusive preview of 2007 HDTV technology
enabled by the HDMI 1.3 standard in San Francisco on Wednesday, November 29
at 10:00 am or in New York City on Monday, December 11 at 10:00 am. These
events will be part of the HDMI 1.3 World Tour organized by HDMI Licensing
and sponsored by Silicon Image, Dolby Laboratories and Mitsubishi.

The demonstration will preview high-definition video and audio technology
that will begin hitting the consumer market in November and December and
continue rolling out in 2007. You will get a first glimpse of key HDMI 1.3
technologies, including Deep Color and support for new lossless audio
formats. HDMI 1.3 is rapidly gaining ground in the consumer electronics
marketplace, and manufacturers have already announced the first two products
to hit the market with HDMI 1.3 functionality: the PS3 from Sony in Nov 06
and the HD-XA2 HD DVD player from Toshiba in Dec 06.

This will be the first opportunity to witness Deep Color, the higher color
depths supported by HDMI 1.3. Deep Color lets HDTVs and other displays go
from millions of colors to billions of colors, and eliminates on-screen
color banding, for smooth tonal transitions and subtle gradations between
colors. HDMI Licensing will demonstrate new 10-bit deep color technology
side-by-side with existing 8-bit color technology.

Please let me know if you would be interested and available to attend on of
the events.

support, if applicable.

Shane,

Regarding your question of equipment with 1.3.

There will be several announcements at CES, I was promised an embargoed
press release with a list of products in a few days before the show, but I
will not be able to disclose it until CES for ethical reasons.

AVRs were specially mentioned, I got a couple of embargoed press releases
with new SI chips for what you need, but I cannot disclose the details
obviously, so hang in there, they are coming.

The demo of 1.3 Deep Color and Dolby True HD on Dolby's Theater was very
impressive indeed.

I will work on material for additional HDMI articles (parts 11 and probably
12) so we can cover the subject in detail for the readership.

Best Regards,

Rodolfo La Maestra
