Ever see such a beast? This would be used to insert a DVI source
directly into a display without using analog audio connections so this
would use the coax digital out to an RCA pigtail on the HDMI adapter.

?

Thanks

How could a HDMI splitter possibly work? Isn't it the case that the
transmitter (source device) and receiver (display device) are supposed
to execute a "secret handshake"? How could this work with two devices
responding?

On the other hand, if one device responded, and the other played "dumb"
could the dumb device be actually a DVI gismo which doesn't have to
handshake?
