I am happy to do anything I can to support HDTV magazine. Can you tell me
which vendors the magazine gets financial benefits from when a purchase is
made?

----- HDTV Magazine Tips List -----

Shane,

I get emails each day regarding short time sales going on that day. Some of
these deals are unbelievable and usually with known online retailers. With
The Olevia the price difference was 30-40% lower than when checked through
the Pricegrabber.com or the magazine.. If it was only a few bucks it would
be no big deal. I believed I was doing the others a favor by posting them.
My HDTV needs have been met and I don't for see purchasing another TV for
years. I was not intentionally trying to circumvent the HDTV search
engine. This is your website and I will no longer forward these types of
emails to the list. Sorry for any confusion this caused.

We have several alliances:

- The most profitable is the Amazon alliance, since we get a commission on
that one, and TV's are relatively high-dollar items. To leverage our
relationship with them, simply click on the Amazon ad on the right-hand
side of most "Model" pages (the one's with the price comparisons at the
bottom).

- The "eBay" tab on the Model pages also provide some compensation. There
is a small "per bid" fee that we receive each time someone visits their
site through us and places a bid on something. We also get a significant
bounty for each new registration they receive after someone visits through
our site.

- Everything else on our site carries a small "per click" compensation:
Google Ads, Pricing Comparisons (when you visit the vendors site), and the
occasional text ad that may appear on the home page or the daily program
listing.

Sorry I can't give any specifics, our TOS with these affiliates prohibit
it. Nor am I permitted to ask you to click on our ads ;-)

I know I speak for Dale as well when I say that it makes us very happy that
we can continue to do the things we do.

Thank you, and Happy Holidays!

I am happy to do anything I can to support HDTV magazine. Can you tell me
which vendors the magazine gets financial benefits from when a purchase is
made?

Might a make a plea to the list:

Please use our search and shopping site if possible. It costs you nothing
and helps support the magazine through sales commissions. If you find it
inconvenient to do so, or too cumbersome to use ... PLEASE let me know so
that I can make it better.

The particular HDTV in question can be found here:

Thank you for your support

----- HDTV Magazine Tips List -----

Please don't worry about it James. If it is that significant, PLEASE
continue to post it to the list. My request was simply to inform (or
remind) all of you that this in one way in which you can support the
magazine. I am in no way against anything the helps anyone here save a
buck or 300. After all, our long-term goal must be to build our site on the
foundation of paid subscriptions, and not rely on advertising. But it is a
means to an end right now.

Do you know if that was a direct-only type of sale, or could someone have
use the rebate/coupon after clicking through from our site?

Just curious,
