Has anyone seen an all in one cable that has

2 Cat 5
2 RG6 Quad
2 Fiber on a 500' spool for a reasonable price? The only source that I
found that had this was for $425 plus shipping. That's much more than for
cat5 combined

>> #FC4...1x1...1 RG6 Quad + 1 Cat 5...$77.50 per 500'
>> #FC2...2x2...2 RG6 Quad + 2 Cat 5...$175.00 per 500'
>> #FC1...2x2x2...2 RG6 Quad + 2 Cat 5 + 2 Fiber...$260.00 per 500'
>> #FC3...1x1...1 RG6 Quad + 1 16/4C SPKR...$130.00 per 500'

Quite; however it appears that there is the same 3rd down on your list for
$260. If that is a good brand, let me know as its below dealer cost!

Joe,

I just received confirmation when I attempted to purchase a spool at $260
that it was wrong price. The actual price is $445.00. Does that seem more in
line?

For 500 feet, I assume. If you can get it on 1000" spools, it will save
waste, but it is heavy.

Joe,

I am not sure if I replied to you regarding this. You were right it was a
typo. The cost for FC1 is $445 manufactured by Coleman Cable Part no.
099273-05-03

I found another vendor that instead of Cat5 includes Cat 6 for $425.00
The Home Automation cable is manufactured by Remee Products. Have you heard
of this manufacturer?

Thanks
Jim

I usually use Commscope or Belden as I trust their testing and manufacture.
Cat 6 is a bit harder to maintain spec and often it is degraded to cat 5
spec by not using proper termination or technique. But Cat 5 is good for
most anything used in a home, so there is no worry there. Fiber is good for
all the multiple data feeds we will one day get: multi-angle video,
interactive video with multiple screens, etc. But that still is to come and
internet providers still must upgrade systems to do that, and that is quite
a bit of money. They first will roll test sites out to see what consumer
acceptance there is to gauge potential revenues.

Undoubtedly it will all come, including new high speed internet that makes
today's high speed look like dial up, and it must as HD does take up more
bandwidth. To do multiple feeds in HD will require much more capacity on
providers' part, and more plant upgrades, so more money.

Put the best in you can, including at least 2 fiber, and have patience. You
will need it one day.

No, category 6 supports all transmission modes of Cat 5 and then some. It is
a little better than 5 in all ways.
