----- HDTV Magazine Tips List -----

Gentlemen, and Ladies,

First let me say that I pray the Tips list never goes away. It is a tremendous forum. You can learn more from those who have been so incredibly generous with their practical knowledge on this list than you can at most universities that profess to educate in this field. Virtually everyone involved in the Tips List is cutting edge. Dale, Shane, Rodolfo, Richard, Hugh, Dr. Falwkes. Forgive me for leaving anyone out. The list just goes on and on. I for one would consider it a very sad day if and when the Tips List takes it's final bow.

It is good to see that Mitusbishi's laser technology that I read about three years ago or better appears to be finally coming to fruition. I'm sure someone had to have seen the demo. Who in this group saw it and what was your reaction? It was my belief, (having worked directly with lasers in the late eighties and early nineties for show purposes), that this could be the answer to the so so blacks the we were getting with LCD and DILA, etc. Of course as things stand now with the abandoment of LCOS, etc, that is a moot point. The proof is in the eating though, and until we see a production model and a price point no one will truly know what the end result will be. Now that having been said, I would certainly love a preview from someone who is not in a Mits press release.

Hope all is well.
