Is there a way to fix a scratch in a LCD screen? Or a product out there that
would help minimize the effect on the picture?

The scratch on a LCD can be replaced. As far as I know there is no way to
fix the scratch without replacing it. I will check with a friend of mine who
invented a polish to repair scratches on a CD/DVD disc to see if this works.

That sounds like an expensive fix. I would think three to four hundred, but
I could be wrong. Are the LCD screens very susceptible to this?

there is a polish/scratch remover for Lexan, PLexi
glass etc. that MAY work.
we used to use like (carefully in direction of
scratch)1000 then 2000 grit Sand paper, then ultra
fine steel wool then the Polish to get rid of
scratches in Plexiglas stereo racks we made...
Good Luck it may dull the area no Warranty on the
above info!!!

If it is a plexi screen, Brillianize would be safe. Ninety percent of the
desks we install in news stations have monitors built into them with covered
by a plexi desk top. The only product we have found that does not fog to
damage the plex in anyway is Brillianize. Here is a link to their site and
you can see if it is applicable for your purposes. www.brillianize.com/

Thanks for the tips, the scratch is on a Sharp Aquos screen that I am
looking to purchase at a very attractive discount. I am not sure what Sharp
makes their screens out of.

>From what I understand, the windshield kits compress the glue into the
internal crack. I only have a 2.5 " surface scratch that I need to repair.
