Assuming that you meant "Gefen" and also assuming the DVDO switch is
the one made by Radiient technologies (I think that's the only
switcher that DVDO offers) I would heartily endorse the DVDO
offering. I've had nothing but trouble with Gefen products,
especially HDMI boxes. I'm currently working with them to try to get
a 2x2 HDMI (supposedly HDCP compliant) witch I own to perform
reliably and still, after several SW updates, haven't been
satisfied. The DVDO product (assuming it's from Radiient) was
designed by Jano Banks, one of the two names on the HDMI patent.

My 2 cents.

Could I get a recommendation on the best lighting for a 50" plasma sitting
in a corner of a large room(basement) There will be a 4' by 3' window within
10'. I will be using recessed lighting throughout the whole space 2400 sq
ft.

This area will be open and used for TV and Movie viewing until the time
comes when I can complete my Home Theater which will be in its own room.

Secondly I am looking for a HDMI switcher. Which one would be a better
purchase? DVDO or Gelfin. Thanks

The Ideal-Lume Pro bias light is the best D65 ambient lighting available for
viewing color television pictures. We sent 34 of them to the Metropolitan
Museum of Art in New York in January for their new video production
facility. We also sold 2 of these to NIST. You will want to provide a
neutral gray or white backdrop for the light to reflect off of. Otherwise,
get the less accurate and lower cost Ideal-Lume Standard model.

If your plasma is wall mounted and there is minimal space available behind
the TV, consider the Ideal-Lume Panelight. All are available at:
www.ideal-lume.com .
