Any one familiar with the 47" EyefiT HD LCD 1080p Monitor?? $2699 from Sam's
Club Online. Sports some impressive resolution stat's. Price seems low given
resolution etc. Although only one HDMI input would seem a draw back. Has
anyone ever seen one working???

I'm at the HDTV conference here in LA this week. One of the retail
panelists had a comment today that immediately comes to mind as I read
your email. As I remember it, he was responding to someone who asked
about competition from Costco, SAMS Club, etc ... his response was
(paraphrased):

If you buy your TV from the same place you buy a gallon of pickles, your
bound to be giving up something.

I know that's not much direct help, but still worth mentioning.

Instead of buying into this fear of doubt thing the guy was peddling, I
would ask him pointedly exactly what you are "bound to be giving up".

The best example in the marketplace today for his concern would appear to be
Costco, who BTW has one of the few remaining liberal return policies.

So if you're an HDTV tipster, meaning above average educated about HDTV
products, what exactly is the value add you're getting by listening to the
sales pitch of the kid working at BB or CC?

I'll leave that to the retailers in the list. I'm sure the first thing
they will mention is post-purchase service.
