I need to move my 53" RPTV upstairs and it does NOT fit up the stairway. I
have a 2nd story deck and was thinking about hiring a construction crew with
a cherry picker to lift it up there. The first quote I got was $350, and I'm
not excited about spending that kind of money to get it up there!

Anyone have suggestions??

Thanks!

Jason

Levitation? ;-) Just kidding Jason. If you have a Hertz Equipment Rental
branch in your area, perhaps you could rent a lift for a day. I don't know
the cost but I believe it would be less than 350.00 The only other thing
that comes to mind but it is a scary proposition, is block and tackle. If
you give me the dims and weight of the set, I can tell you what size lift
will accommodate it and get you a cost, at least the cost in Orlando, but I
doubt it will vary much by location

Thanks Anthony - I called Hertz and they have a tall forklift but it's
almost $400 a day!

In the past, I've had the local tv store move it for me for $100, so I'll
give those guys a shot. They must have some resources when they can't get
something themselves.

Thanks,

Jason

Sorry Jason. Didn't think it would be that high. I was actually thinking
of a two man scissor lift.

Jason,

Your message seems to indicate that the reason you can not move the RPTV is because it does not fit
the stairs, not because you want help on doing it.

Depending on the RPTV, some sets would allow for the back panel to be removed, be extra careful with
the mirror attached to the panel on its back. I said some sets because doing the removal on others
would be a mistake (like some Pioneer Elites), check with the service people for your brand and
model to verify if the back panel removal would be possible by a non-technician, the panel removal
would certainly give you quite a few inches to maneuver the stairs.

Best Regards,

Rodolfo La Maestra

Rodolfo,

Just this morning, I had a local crane company come by and hoist the tv
using two big straps and a small crane...they moved it from my driveway,
over the railing, onto a second floor deck. From there, my brother and I
were able to get it up a couple of tall steps into the house. So, for $168,
the TV is moved!

Also, mine is the Elite 520, so taking it apart was not an option.
