I've noticed a horizontal line running slowly up my screen lately. I
don't know if it is something new or I have just never noticed it
before. Any ideas what this could be? Thanks.

Walt

P.S. The set is a Mitsubishi WS65711

Sounds like a ground loop. Check to see if your TV cable service is
grounded. If not try grounding it to the same ground position as the
electrical service to the house.

Still probably a ground loop between the sat receiver and the TV. If it
shows up on DVD you can turn on a DVD and try disconnecting the sat receiver
feeds to the TV, if the line disappears you'll have to experiment with
grounding the unit chassis to each other/the wall to get rid of it.

Cheers,
Joe

I've got the item that Bill mentioned below and it does work like a charm
for speaker hum but I can't speak for video problems. Actually it doesn't
fix the problem only the symptom. I found out that my bad hum problem was
due to my sub-woofer. A new sub fixed that problem entirely.

It will alleviate the horizontal 'crawl' problem as well. Great product when
necessary.

As for the hum problem, did you try a cheater plug at any time? That should
solve sub humming issues. Enjoy the new sub.

It's commonly used to go between a 3-prong cord and a 2-prong wall outlet.
They're about an inch or so in length, usually gray with a short ground
wire.
