Rodolfo,

Looking at your yet again wonderful report for 2006. Is 1080P input
verified on this product?

BTW, I thought the report would have a section of those display known to
accept 1080P...

Thanks

Richard,

I am glad you are enjoying the report.

1080p acceptance on the Optoma 81 was confirmed 3 times by their project manager to me, the 3 times I went to witness their quality demo, definitely a hands down winner on 1-chip 1080p DLP at the price range.

On the personal tone I am considering this projector for myself instead of the Ruby due to the enormous light output and the quality of that huge image, the problem is that is not out yet, but is worth the waiting rather than jumping on the Ruby, one big plus is that they use the Gennum video processor.

I promised Optoma an article about the subject, I just need the time.

Regarding products accepting 1080p they are all underlined across the report, grouping them in a separate section would have made this already large report more difficult to handle, not to mention writing it.

I am planning to issue an article on the series of: Why 1080p? that would cover exactly that.

Best Regards,

Rodolfo La Maestra

Rodolfo,

I have purchased your report but have not had much time yet to go through it. Do you discuss the plans for Joe Kane Productions and Samsung to release a 1080p projector by the end of the year? I spoke with Joe and he said he will have a demo at CEDIA EXPO in September. It will be given a model number of 900 in the series of Samsung projectors he has been involved with.

Alan,

To the best of I can recall Samsung did not announce the 1080p 1-chip (non-wobulated) projector officially at CES, nor until the end of March (date of the closing of data for the report), it is not on my report.

Joe might plan a demo for September and that might be the timing for the official announcement.

I will keep an eye on it.

Best Regards,

Rodolfo La Maestra
