Good day all,
I just wanted to take a quick minute to re-state/clarify the troubles we
had last week with the tips list:
Through some combination of configuration changes I made (still not sure
exactly which), 75% of the subscribers to the Tips List were unsubscribed
by the system. Normally this would have been corrected immediately, but as
I was in DC last week at the HDTV Summit, I was not able to restore them
until Friday afternoon. I believe the entire list is restored now, so if
you posted anything last week and did not receive a response, you may want
to re-post it. PLEASE NOTE that this loss of subscribers had absolutely no
effect on the rest of the website or any of the other emails to which you
subscribe.
One ill-effect of the restoration that was done Friday is that everyone who
was restored was placed into default "feed" mode, which means you will
receive a copy of EACH post to the list. If you were subscribed to
"digest" mode before, you can re-enable this by sending a blank email to
the following address:
[email protected]
Some other commands you may find handy in the future are:
[email protected]
[email protected]
[email protected]
The result of the above commands will switch an address to feed mode,
subscribe an address or unsubscribe an address, respectively.
One last item of note: If in the future, you need to determine whether you
are receiving all the tips, you can access an online archive of the tips
list on our website at the following address:
http://www.hdtvmagazine.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=1. This is a private
forum and limited to only those who are Tips List subscribers, so if you
find you do not have access to this link please email
[email protected] and let me know and I will make sure you are set
up properly in the Tips List access group.
I apologize for the confusion, and will tread more carefully when changing
things in the future ... lesson learned (I hope).
