recommendation for 2 channel amp

In adding a 7th channel to my 6 channel Sony STR-DA5ES receiver, I need
a stereo amplifier. I'm looking for one with roughly the same quality
and quantity of sound from the Sony receiver (100 watts per channel),
and a reasonable price. I expect this to last a year or two at most
before moving to a pre/pro system, once all the new formats have settled
in and are fully supported from end to end. It may sound a little too
idealistic to think that will happen in that time frame, but I'm
thinking that once 1080p/24, HDMI 1.3, Dolby and DTS lossless formats
are supported, there's not much to add to the equation, aside from the
normal quality improvements that come over time.

I've tested the Onkyo M282 amp and like it, with a price of $200 no tax
or shipping, it seems perfect; but thought i would ask around to see if
there's another contender.

thanks!

If you are looking for something low-cost and temporary, maybe a used
Marantz MA600. It's a 100w monobloc amp. You could probably find a good
deal at ebay or audiogon.
