Red Laser?

I received an email from Crutchfield announcing that the Toshiba HDA1
HD-DVD players are now available for pre-order. The product description
contains the following line:

"To ensure backward-compatibility with your existing DVD and CD
collections, the HD-A1 actually uses a dual-laser mechanism: a blue
laser for playing high-definition HD DVD discs, and a conventional red
laser for playing DVDs and audio CDs."

I thought HD-DVD still used a red laser, hence Blu-Ray's higher
capacity. So, is it red or blue for HD-DVD?

Walt, both HD DVD and Blu-Ray have been blue laser from the beginning. There
are some other manufacturing similarities between dvd and hd dvd that bring
the cost down over blu-ray.

I am surprised about the Toshiba being a hybrid unit, though! Glad to hear
it... (preordered mine already)
