Just wondering what everyone thinks about my recent experience. The blue
tube on my 4 year old Sony rear projector is going. Had a Sony authorized
repair shop make the diagnosis and tell me I should replace all 3 guns.
Raved to the guy about my ISF calibration. Next thing I know the owner of
the repair shop calls to let me know that since my set was ISF calibrated he
would not do the repairs (replace the 3 guns) - didn't want to work on my
set, period.

I'll be happy to reply to anyone who would like to know anything further
(including the name of the local authorized Sony repair shop).

Any advice? I was floored - this is absolutely incredible and rediculous!

You never mentioned the word "warranty", was that the reason the shop would
not cover it?

It's out of warranty; I was simply trying to find out the problem and have
it fixed. Quoted around $250/tube (x3) and approx. 3 hours labor. Over
$1,000 out-of-pocket.

Maybe he is not the right guy for the job.

These folks are aware of ISF and why it DOES NOT cause problems and if a
member isn't there are plenty of us to guide him.
