I am beginning to not be able to understand something I thought I knew
fairly well, but this has me quite confused. Maybe it just has to do with
pixel size.

My PC monitor is an Acer 22" wide format LCD with a resolution of 1680 x
1050, but this 32" Toshiba LCD can only resolve VGA at 1366 x 768 (it's at

Yes.

This is something to consider for laptop PC users...

Pixel density versus size can make a high resolution display difficult
to clearly see if not close enough when small in size. Many of the new
laptops have this potential problem and require 3 screen heights or less
for clarity.

Thanks Richard, I hoped I was not missing something that inherent. It just
amazes me though that they advertise that 32" big size pixel display for PC
work. I guess it is VGA instead of WSXGA like the PC monitor I am typing
this on.

the 32" would be perfect for my grandfather. he has a 19" that runs
1280x1024 as it's native resolution, but leaves it at 800x600 so he can
read better. I hope other manufacturers will start making some larger
pixel monitors for those that don't want 1920x1080 on a 12" laptop screen...
