The "Christmas in Washington" special on TNT was billed as
in HD. However, if you look at it closely, it is using a "panorama"
aspect ratio, where it's pretty much correct in the center and
widened on the ends of the picture. I noticed this last year too but
felt it was a lens thing. This year it became clear that someone is
manipulating the aspect ratio a the source. Shouldn't someone go to
prison for saying something is in HD and then manipulating the aspect ratio?
And why is the programming source (do you use Tribune?)
saying its in HD?
