Existing DVDs won't be affected because they don't
have the technology built into them. DVDs designed to
use this networking method will always be connected as
long as you've purchased the rest of the equipment
needed. This technology has been around for a long
time, although it is getting better and faster.
What's new is integrating it into devices. That will
be cool, but I still cringe at the thought of power
surges wiping out all my equipment. At the moment,
these devices don't work so well (or at all) when
plugged into surge protectors.
