I know it's not HD-related, but I was just curious to know if anyone has
any idea how this will affect audio quality. I listen to these
channels/stations on DirecTV quite a bit and love the "CD Quality" sound.
One of the down-sides I've always heard about the satellite radio services
is about the compression used and the mp3-like audio quality. So my
questions:

1. What level of quality/compression did DirecTV provide with their old
MusicChoice stations?

2. With XM, will it be significantly less, or about the same?

Furthermore, I am assuming that DirecTV is decoding and retransmitting the
XM signal, since my STB does not "tune" XM radio. Will DirecTV (or other
manufacturers for that matter) be incorporating XM tuners in future boxes
and bouncing the XM signal off their satellites?
