| Once an aggressive promoter of the new-defunct HD-DVD format, Paramount Home Video is now turning to Blu-ray as the future of its profit center. Beginning with the upcoming home video release of the film Dance Flick Paramount is trying a new approach where the Blu-ray sales and DVD rental versions will be released several weeks before the standard DVD version is planned to hit store shelves. It is hoped that this strategy will further push Blu-ray Disc player and movie sales, and further solidify its continued growth. Disney is also attempting to take a similar approach. The 1080p display touts a 2,000:1 contrast ratio, three HDMI sockets, 178-degree viewing angles, a depth of 1.5-inches and two incredibly awesome sets of 3D goggles. If you're not concerned that actual 3D content is all but nonexistent for home users, you can snag this now for $9,153 (and not a penny more).
