Silver Pavilion at 2001 International CES to House the Latest in Digital and Emerging Technology

Arlington, Va., November 27, 2000 - With two of the most popular new technology pavilions, personal electronics exhibitors and the Innovations 2001 display all located within its confines, the Silver Pavilion should be one of the most heavily visited areas of the upcoming CES. The 2001 International CES-Your Source for Workstyle and Lifestyle Technology will be held Saturday, January 6 through Tuesday, January 9 in Las Vegas, Nev.

Inside the Silver Pavilion, located next to the Las Vegas Convention Center, attendees will have access to one of the most anticipated exhibits of the 2001 CES: Upside's Digital Living Room Pavilion.

Featuring the latest digital innovations for the home market and sponsored by Upside Events, Upside's Digital Living Room Pavilion will give attendees the opportunity to see everything from the newest in digital television (DTV) to voice-controlled thermostats. Companies in this pavilion include Broadlogic, BroadMax Technologies, Ceiva Logic, DoBox, eHomeTV, Enfinet/Wavefly, Enikia, Freesystems Pte. Ltd., Gamut Interactive, IBM, iTech Group, Keen Personal Media, Kerbango, Liquid Audio, Microtune, Minds@Work, NetMorf, Open Entertainment, Qpass, Ucentric, Scientific-Atlanta, Vianix, Vibrance Networks, ViOS and Xanboo.

Also located in the Silver Pavilion, the Emerging Technologies Pavilion will showcase the latest innovations in consumer technologies with more than 30 new companies and their next-generation products. Attendees also will see the latest in personal electronics. From clock radios to home healthcare products to batteries, musical instruments and more, the majority of personal electronics exhibitors will be located in this pavilion.

The Silver Pavilion also will showcase the latest technology from Palm Inc, a leading provider of handheld computers with products currently sold in more than 35 countries. Palm is a pioneer in the field of mobile and wireless Internet solutions for individuals, enterprises and educational institutions. Additionally, Palm's CEO, Carl Yankowski, will be delivering the workstyle keynote at the 2001 CES on Saturday, January 6 at 4:00 p.m. in the Las Vegas Hilton Theater.

Transmeta Corp., manufacturers of low-power microprocessors for portable computers and Internet devices, also will be exhibiting in the Silver Pavilions. Interested attendees will have the opportunity to see their patented "code morphing" technology that uses software to translate instructions typically handled by transistors.

Additionally, each year the International CES displays the winners of the Consumer Electronics Association's (CEA) highest honor, the Innovations 2001 Design and Engineering Awards. Winners of the prestigious award program, endorsed and advised by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA), will be located in the Silver Pavilion.
