The IAB Announces Two Major Events:
1. UNDERSTANDING METADATA at IAB Campus, Montreux, 26 - 28 February 2001.
Since August 1998, when the EBU/SMPTE Task Force published its report, Metadata has become one of the most important and the most fiercely debated topics. Its importance is undeniable, but do we all really understand why Metadata is needed, where it is needed, and what impact it will have? Do we know what is the potential it offers? How will we generate, distribute and use Metadata?
The International Academy of Broadcasting, responding to the perceived need, and in consultation with experts in the field, has invited Leading European experts as speakers who will help participants to acquire the necessary knowledge and to be fully acquainted with Metadata.
The advance programme, registration and hotel booking forms can be retrieved from http://www.iab.ch.
2. DVB WORLD 2001 Conference at Alexander Hotel, Dublin, 7 - 9 March, 2001.
