ABC MONDAY NIGHT AT THE MOVIES
THE HORSE WHISPERER
\TOY STORY
The Horse Whisperer begins with a tragic accident involving a young girl (Johansson) and her horse. The girl's mother (Thomas) is desperate and believes that rehabilitating her daughter's beloved horse will help restore her daughter's confidence on all levels. The mother contacts a noted horse therapist (Redford), who turns down the woman's request.
Undaunted, she and her daughter travel with the horse to the remote Montana ranch where the vistas and the horse whisperer's great patience begin a healing process and bring new perspectives to all involved. As the relationship between the woman and the rancher deepens, they are faced with life-altering decisions. Neill portrays the husband and father, a high-powered New York attorney.
The 1998 film was directed by Robert Redford. The screenplay was written by Eric Roth and Richard LaGravenese, based on the novel by Nicholas Evans.
This program carries a TV-PG, V parental guideline.
