E.T.THE EXTRA TERRESTIAL
In E.T., an alien botanist becomes stranded on Earth and is befriended by a little boy named Elliott (Henry Thomas). As the government searches for the alien, Elliott secretly moves E.T. into his suburban home setting the scene for one of the funniest and most endearing stories of hide and seek in cinema history. When released in 1982, the movie was hailed as a triumph of special effects and storytelling.
The 1982 release was directed by Oscar-winner Steven Spielberg and written by Melissa Mathison.. E.T. won four Academy Awards: Best Effects, Sound Effects Editing; Best Effects, Visual Effects; Best Music, Original Score, and Best Sound. Additionally, the feature was nominated for five additional Oscars: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Cinematography, Best Film Editing, and Best Writing, Screenplay Written Directly for the Screen.
