This Week In HDSports
Champ Car Racing in HD on HDNet
This Week has lots of exciting news for HD Sports Fans about
future events, plus a great current week of HD programming content. We
have
lots more MLB games coming this week and looking at the HD Calendar
it seems…. Wait just a second !
Big HDTV Fan Wow factor!
Foremost for
This Week in HD Sports has to be the ’04 premier of ABC’s NFL Monday
Night Football. They bring us the Hall of Fame Game, coming in 720p HD.
Native 720p Display owners should really like this
presentation of
ABC/ESPN style NFL Football with more coverage coming Thursday, Aug.
12th.. A Special edition ESPN-HD Sunday (but on Thursday) Night
Football. Note: The SuperVeteran of CBS and Fox NFL telecasts, Pat
Summerall will call ESPN's pre season NFL games, replacing regular Mike
Patrick, who will have heart surgery.
CBS has said, besides “select” weekly
NFL HD games, their NFL AFC Playoff games will all be 1080i High
Definition Format. CBS has just announced the PGA Golf Championship is
to be in HD & it's likely that again, CBS
will carry the US Open Tennis in HD.
Coming later - FOX will be the
new HD NFL King with up to Six weekly HD games and all NFC playoffs in
720p HD. The NFL Network has said they will also have some HD
pre season
games.
DirecTV/NBC Universal showed some good
sense &
they will now bring
the NBC HD Olympic feed to all DirecTV viewers in their NBC Network
Owned & Operated broadcast areas. Have heard that Bravo-HD is also
available, but details remain sketchy. Remember folks the NBC HD
Olympics are coming next weekend! Dish Network is also testing their HD
Olympic Channel. Delayed or not the Olympics in HD will be beautiful
indeed!
This weekend, Mark Cuban & Co. brings more fast and spectacular
HDNet Auto Racing and MLSoccer. HDNet also has now announced
their MLS Soccer schedule for the remaining season, with Sat. &
Wed. night matches plus HD MLS playoffs. Lots of Boxing on this
weekend, both HDNet and Showtime.
More great HD Sports news, this time for Calif. Folks, is Fox Sports
Net HD, Bay Area (SF, CA) start of HD MLB games. They will show 37
games featuring the Oak. A’s or SF Giants in 2004.
Look for a usual range of HD MLB games on your local Fox SpNet
regionals; I do not have updated info regards which games are in to be
HD at press time.
Pass this along to
your sports fan friends

PrimeTime HD Monday Night Football. Hall of Fame Game: it's the new
look Joe Gibbs Washington Redskins taking on the Denver Broncos. Dan
Reeves will be doing some commentary behind a microphone not coaching
on the sidelines. This should be a cool game from the Pro-Football Hall

The stadium
only holds 22,000 fans and will be
packed. I am sure ABC will bring along and test some new technical
effects sometime during the pre-season. For more Hall of Fame Game
